The Ordre du Saint-Esprit was established on December 31, 1578 by Henri III of France as a Religious Order of Merit for Nobles of the Court. The actual order didn't come into it's own until King Henry IV, and from that time forth, the monarchs of France continued this order for more than two hundred years. For more information please read Ordre du Saint-Esprit and other Orders of Chivarly History below and contact the French National Archives.To honor the French Renaissance and those that gave us so much which we enjoy today we document their lives and their culture. It is one of our greatest pleasures to be able to re-enact their lives and this time period at Renaissance Faires. Collectively, it is our mission to pool our time, talents and all the knowledge we've researched to promote this period of French history. Any individual and/or Renaissance Guild is invited to contribute research to this Web Site.
